Welcome to Lake Breeze Arts, the website that I have created for a place you can go to see samples of my daughters and my creations and to find out where they can be purchased.
This website will always be changing as I add images of our artwork, list new places where you can see our artwork, and update our list of scheduled events where we will be participating. Although this website will always be a work in progress, I hope you take the time to take a look around, and if you have any questions or comments, please send me an e-mail here or like my Facebook page here for additional information.
My favorite medium to work with is polymer clay. This is where my love of nature really shines. My core line of creations consist of mixed media luminarias that incorporate glass, mulberry paper, inks, polymer clay and acrylic paint, using nature as the basis.
Phase one in my creative process is where I attach the mulberry paper to the glass containers, sometime using inks to add additional colors. In the next phase I sculpt polymer clay into tree trunks, branches, cattails, and others subjects, and attach them to the paper clad glass container. The final phase is where I paint the finer details: small branches, leaves, etc., with a textured acrylic paint. Each piece is heated up to three times during the creation process
My artwork has earned me a following on the local arts and crafts circuit including juried shows such as the Lakewood Arts Fest, Festival of the Arts, the Berea Art Fest, Ohio Mart and Christkindle Markt. See my "Galleries & Events" page for a detailed listing of shows and shops that carry my work.
I am a charter member and secretary for the ALFA (Artists Learning From Artists) organization, and as a member of The Ohio Arts & Crafts Guild (OACG) and the International Polymer Clay Guild (IPCG), I continue to create decorative items that are distinctive and unique.
